OK, the messages in any thread are displayed oldest first by default. This can be changed per thread by a little drop down boxat the bottom, don't know if there is some setting that can change it globally per user (probably is I suppose) or as the default for all users. It would be better if each thread was displayed newest first so when you go to it you don't have to navigate to page 4 to see the most recent posts... |

Hey RF,
I think I read about this modification somewhere, but I'm not sure it is necessary - try this on for size.
In many places throughout the board, you'll see these two small icons, usually next to somebody's name while perusing the forums:
Wherever you see them, they both do the same thing - take you to the latest message in a thread. The colored one just means it's a new post since your last visit.
Some places you'll see these:
"View posts since last visit" (top right of the home page as well as the link to the left)
The Main Forum Index
Let me know what you think - I can certainly look into the "last first" modification as well, but I've used the above and it's worked well for me. What would be best, but I don't know how easy it is - another profile setting. Let folks decide how they want the messages to display, rather than making it one way for everybody.

Wow, that is excellent Bill, thnx for the tip, even though it was not me asking it (lol) I still needed that advice.
Hey I remember in a thread back? you said you were going to make a X-large font or even a XX-large font setting. Well, I would be one of them peep on here that would apreciate that feature, if it's possible |

Bill,
Just a couple of minor comments.
1. Take out the date "joined" and the "number of posts" from the identifier. What purpose does this info serve?
2. Do away with Greenwich Mean Time. Let's have a uniform time which relates to somewhere in the US. I'm sure the rest of the world will understand.
I love the site. Thanks for creating a virtual home for us. _________________ MartyP

Dotnmarty,
I can answer your second item.
If you go to your profile page, and scroll to the bottom, on the next to last line is "TIMEZONE". Click on the dropdown box and select GMT-8 or Pacific time and click submit. This will change your display and all posts will be shown in your time.
I hope this helps. _________________ Larry H

Thanks Larry-I finally figured it out and clicked on the CORRECT "profile" (the one up there at the top of the page). Now I know what time it is! |
