Hello Brats
The Kicker with a 20" shaft I bought on E-bay turns out to be a 25". It looks like the Prop Cavitation plate will end up a few (3) inches below the bottom of the boat. Can the brackets which raise and lower kickers be used in the up position to get the motor up a little or is there somekind of locking mechanism when down?
Thanks
Hank

Depends on the bracket, but many of them will lock at intermediate positions.

On a kicker motor, being a few inches too deep won't negatively affect anything.

Yes, the brackets can be used in the up postion, and most which are adjustable, can be used in any position, even though they do not have a true "Lock". The problem with the longer shaft, is that it may drag in the water when the motor is locked "up"--

Having the cavitation plate 3" below the hull is not a problem, and may give cleaner water to operate in.
