Last time I was at Sucia, and everyone else was at Stuart, I guess, I was also visited by some hungry mousers. Didn't realize until late the next morning when I reached for a blueberry Cliff Bar and saw that it looked as if it had been used for BB gun practice. Wait a minute, thought I. How'd that happen? A petulant enareayster? Did I nibble out of control some time in the wee hours? What the...

Well, turns out it was Sucia's tiny greeting committee. Furry little fellers found a feast. My semi-open door policy provided a banquet for their dining pleasure. I really didn't mind; I like visitors. But next time maybe I'll bring Buster. He likes mice.

I didn't mind the mice at Sucia until they started fighting over the onion soup mix in the cupboard. Wink The last straw was when I woke up to screams of "There's one! There's one!" and found one sitting on my chest. Crook .... CoolSmile Jack

Thats where we were docked when the dog caught a mouse and throw it into the air, hitting susan in the forehead with it. Dog loves that place.

Interestingly enough Thomas, when I mentioned the episode the next morning, those that had dogs on board didn't have mice. Dog Pat said I made quite a picture chasing our visiters around (in my shorts) with a Barber-Q fork. Wink ...Jack

If they are SMART mice, they will hop a ride to Arizona, Texas or Florida!

Are the mice still there or do they find warmer places in the winter?

Yep, Peanut Butter is the best bait for them that I've ever used. It sticks well to the bait pad and if the trap fails to spring and trap them, the peanut butter gets stuck in the roofs of their mouths and drives them nuts!
Rumor has it that some mice are allergic to peanut butter and can have severe anaphalaxis resulting in death.....extremely frightening way for the little critters to die.... Sad . They will start wheezing, experience marked facial swelling (most noticeably around the eyes), complain of itching with hives often present. Abdominal cramps followed by nausea vomiting and diarrhea and their pulse becomes rapid and their blood pressure falls. Without immediate treatment their airway will close and cardiorespiratory arrest will occur resulting in imminent death....but then that was the object of the trap in the first place.... Wink

Laughing If they could read they would surely die laughing over that one Dave..... Wink I think traps are more humane. Some one asked me one time why I didn't put pie plates on my lines? Sad I had to tell them I didn't have a ship and I was only inches for the dock. CoolSmile
