OK, Ranger owners...you're about to receive some pretty dang special treatment.

As a handful of you are aware, I've been toying around with a web site for Ranger Tugs owners. This came about after many discussions with Jeff Messmer. The short of it - you all deserve a place you can call your own. And, Ranger Tugs wants a place where their boats are the focus, and they can be intimately involved with the user community.

That site is now live - head on over to The TugNuts, and have a look around. As of this writing, there is very little content...but feel free to play around with all the cool bells and whistles.

A special note for the Ranger Owners here: If you have a photo album and would like the content copied over, I can do so once you sign up over there. Read this note on setting up an album, and follow up in that topic with your request.

Now, let's address something right up front. Nobody is giving you Ranger guys/gals the boot, and nobody is stating Ranger owners are no longer welcome here, or at any of our gatherings. The Ranger Albums and Forums will remain here, and we've no plans to close them. Given C-Dory's previous relationship with Ranger Tugs, and the fact that our best bud Jeff Messmer jumped ship to join them, we'll always be one big happy family. Both sites link to each other, and I'm guessing we'll reference each other routinely during discussions. Heck, the two sites are even on the same server...different as they look, they're within microns of each other on the same disc platters. Mr. Green

However...there's no doubt, that Ranger will be paying closer attention to the TugNuts than they do here. Jeff and friends have big plans over there, including a forum specifically for questions directed to the factory, and a section where they'll be building up a technical article database. My guess is, having seen how Ranger runs things in their customer service and manufacturing areas - the site will be equally impressive.

So, head on over, and start up some Ranger chatter. There's also a welcome announcement over there that covers a few more details of the site plans and operation.

You da man, Bill. The site looks great. Congrats to Jeff and the Ranger folks. We bought our CD-25 from Jeff at the Seattle Boat Show when the R-25 was introduced; been following the evolution of the tugs since that time. Kudos to Ranger for encouraging and promoting involvement with their owners! Thumbs Up

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Great idea and job, Bill!

I like the fact that the Tug owners will have a site of heir own, though I certainly don't want them to leave us totally behind, as I like talking with them, exchanging ideas, and simply keeping up with their boat developments.

I see that in order to post on the TugNuts site, one has to be a member. Is it OK for us to join so that an occasional post can be made when one of us has a suggestion to make regarding a topic?

Joe. Teeth Thumbs Up

Joe, I sure hope so because JimTXSD, several other Brats and I have already joined. There's a place in the "profile" for you to say that you don't own a Ranger Tug and list what kind you DO own....

A great idea!

Charlie

Bill,

Kudos to you and Jeff and the rest of the Ranger crew. Shows some good forward thinking. Idea Great looking site. New and a little bit different (for one who doesn't spend much time looking at other bulletin board sites), but looks easy to get around in.

Really like that Ranger is interested enough to take an active roll there. Mr. Green

I agree with the thought that we don't want to give the Tugfolks a boot. They often have useful posts that cross over to C-Dory land. Like that a lot. Thumbs Up

Thanks for all your efforts here.

Thank you C-brats for including Ranger Tug in this site. I know it was a bit controversial at first. Our boating experience has been greatly enhanced due to our association with this site. You are a great group of people. Hope to see you on the water in the PNW!

This is a terrific development! I absolutely love viewing C-Brats and will continue to do so, but it will be nice to have a site that features the tugs. Thanks to all who made this possible!

Sweet!

Congrats to Jeff and the Livingstons..... and Jeff... keep me posted if you ever plan to do a R-25 like the R-21-EC.....but my size. Grin. I know you told me a couple years back to forget it....but who knows now.

Dude!

I went through 5 or 6 different designs and installations, prior to this one...sorry, but they're all dead. You'll need to sign up again.

For a free cap I'll sign up for just about anything, but for the Ranger site the cap is just icing on the cake.

Heh...I just talked with Jeff, and told him he better stock up. He's got 60+ to send out already. Laughing

I've registered!

Bill, what software did you use to build the TugNuts (there's a joke but I'm not going there! Mr. Green ) site? I remember that you were somewhat disenchanted with the phpbb which C-Brats is built on.

Warren
