The Lucky Fin is a 2009 , But the years in profile only go to 2008. That is scarey. What will happen after Jan 1st? Someone know something I don't?

It's deja vu all over again, just like the millennium - all 2009 models will turn inside out and become 2008s!

Uh oh. You might be sorry you asked. You know how Da Nerd gets when he starts upgrading things. My guess is, before too long things will look real different around here. _________________ TyBoo Mike

I was hoping we could just start 2008 over again, before the recession/depression and maybe avoid it this next time!
If not, it would allow me to rearrange my finances to buy gold, platinum, Swiss Francs, and sell out generally and move to a beach hut in the South Pacific, taking my CD-22 with me.

Added 2009 to the pick list, and updated your profile for you.

Here's the story:
Rincon storm. C-Dory in a bad spot
Short version
" I was up the beach to the left trying to get a ponga to take me out to the boat. Looking back I saw the boat on top of a large breaker. I thought surely it would roll. My friend Mike was there to grab the stern anchor line and pull the stern in 1st, so it was taking the following breakers bow 1st. Each wave brought it further up the beach until it was high and dry on the sand. No damage what so ever. The winch on the boat trailer and the rollers allow me to load it off the sand, and I was out of there. I have picture of an other boat coming in. The owner got to it and tried to save it from coming in. He ended up riding it all the way in. ( I will post a couple of those) He had damage to his outriggers.
Interestingly my problem came after the storm was over. Wanting to get back to fishing after waiting about a week and a half for the weather to settle. We attempted to launch with about a two foot surf. I was on the boat, Mike was releasing the boat and pushing. The boat for some reason hung up on the trailer. Waves splashed over the transom. In no time the boat was full and really heavy. Half on and half off the trailer. Now I have damage. Water went into the fuel tanks through the vents. The engines were run enough to suck up lots of sand. Which tore up the impellers. and pieces plugged the cooling system. I now know how to tear those Hondas apart from the lower unit up. Took a good two weeks to get up and running, and back to fishing. I had about ten pounds of sand in the cabin under the sink.

Thanks, Sea Wolf. I figured that situation had to end with the boat on the beach. Glad it was OK and no one hurt trying to save it. |
