TyBoo hisself along with both the dogs fared just fine, but Mrs. TyBoo come down with a touch of sickliness yesterday, and so we headed back to home port this morning. 'Twas a wonderful weekend for river running. We didn't even try fishing.

No problems, but a couple minor improvements are in the works. I put the boat back on the trailer, and all should be good for the season by the time I get off the stinkin' night shifts.

Too bad about the fish 'n chips joint. That was kind of a cool place.

I did discover one thing you can do with a 25 footer that you can't do with a 22. Pull up to a fuel dock with 1/3 tank of gas left, and spend $136 to get it full.

Cept for Kay getting a bug, sounds like you had a relaxing weekend......I'd hate to think what a V hull boat with your kind of cabin space would cost to feed...ouch

Lets go on an overnighter...
I need to burn some gas.

Where should we go and who wants to join in?

Blue~c, you were talking about heading to some rock... Still want to?
Maybe cruise from St. Helens to Cathlamete?

Anything to get some time on the boat, burn some gas and have some fun...

Around 9:00 AM, Sunday morning we gassed up and headed downriver. The river was high and the current seemed to be more brisk than usual. There weren't many boats on the river probably due to the iffy weather forcast for the weekend. At Kalama we encountered a squall but came out the other side for flat water. We stopped for a brief lunch behind Walker Island and afterward took advantage of the calm until we hit Crims Island. There we got into some chop but nothing serious. We pulled in north of Wallace Island and hooked into a sand bar to keep us free from wakes. Suddenly the sun came out and we enjoyed the rest of the day followed by a great sunset (reflected on the clouds...Cape Horn kept us from seeing the sun). The Wallace Slough has a few boats and homes but on the north side of the island it is quite wild and unspoiled.

Monday we left about 9:00 AM and headed back. We detoured through Bradbury Slough and Fischer Island Slough checking out some of those areas for future stops. From there it was straight back upriver. Although it was cool we ran into some folks on upper Sauvie Island that didn't feel the weather was all that cold at all....! On the way back to Tomahawk we noticed the boat traffic had picked up quite a bit and we dogged a car ship as it headed for the docks. (Can anyone tell me how those things keep from tipping over in heavy seas??)

A great 2 day trip....looking forward to the trip upriver later this summer.

Chuck

those car haulers are a pretty clunky looking ship aren't they. The Suavie Island folks are out allready? brrrr.

Hey Ray, if you're just looking to get rid of some extra gas money you can send it over here. Towing to Roosevelt is going to put a hurt in our gas budget and we could use some extra funding.....just trying to help out

Well a couple of friends talked me into boaterhoming later this week. We will head for the Island Thursday, make camp, have a big fire and cool our heals.
We'll enjoy a few adult beverages and some really good dutch oven cooking. If any of you are in the neighborhood stop on by.
We plan to stay there Thursday night (11-11)and maybe Friday night (11-12) but most likely we will be back on the trailer Friday afternoon.
I am taking my mid term Tuesday and look forward to taking a break.

Stop on by and say howdy!
We may even go pester the Sturgeon, ya never know....

If anyone ever comes up as far as the Tri-Cities (Richland, Pasco, Kennewick) on the Columbia in their C-Dory can I beg a ride? Once you are east of the Dalles OR the view changes. It's, shall we say, different?

Tea I spring for lunch, coffee etc!! Thanks.

Well we had a great time!
Went to Coon Island. Just camped and cruised around.
It sure was foggy out there. Nice to have Radar.
Sea Lion still floats and didn't miss a beat.
