Pictures in Messages

Here's a quick tutorial for IE - the procedure is similar for all OS's and browsers. It's a little tougher than a regular link, but once you do it a few times, you'll get the hang of it.

- Go to the picture you want to include. For this excercise, we'll assume it's in a C-Brat photo album, although it could be anywhere on the Internet. Here's a link to Digger's puller bracket in the Snoopy-C album.

- When you see the image on screen, move your mouse over it and click it with your right mouse button, then select Properties. In the window that pops up, you'll see an "Address" field - it starts with "http://". This is the text you need to make the image link work.

- Drag your mouse across the Address text to highlight it. Note: it may span more than one line, so make sure you get it all.

- On your keyboard, press Ctrl+C - this will copy the text to your clipboard. It will look like nothing happened.

- In the window where you are entering your new message post, position your cursor where you want the image to appear. Press Ctrl+V - this will paste the Address text you highlighted earlier into the message window.

- Drag your mouse across the Address text you just pasted into the message window to highlight it, then click the button that says "Img". The text for the picture on the linked page above will look like this in the edit window:

Click the Preview button, and you should see the picture in the message. If everything looks OK, click the Submit button to post your message, and as you'll see below, the pic makes it into the message

How do I get a picture off my computer on to the site?

Why don't you just put the pictures in your C-Dory album and then follow the post I put above. It is the easiest way and then you have pictures we can go back and look at again and again. If you get tired of them in the album you can go back in and delete them later.

On your last post click on the blue " little boat that could" and that will open your photo album. Look for "ADD PHOTOS" click on it and then follow simple directions to put picture in album. then you can add them to post from there or just tell us to look at your album to see your pictures.

That is sure neat how you use your laptop for hitch alignment. I use my laptop in the car and on the boat for GPS with a usb port unit. I also have a cheap web cam that I will try your trick on mine. Too bad those web cams are not waterproof so we could hang them on our downriggers to see our bait like Charlie White does. He has some of the very best under water footage of salmon behavior on vhs that I have been watching. It sure answers a lot of questions about what they see and which bait they go after. I watched one salmon hit at his bait quit a few times and then just swim off and it never showed on the pole up topside. At one of the get togethers if we can find a TV and VCR it may be fun to get the fisher persons together and watch it. Maybe even compare techniques we all use.
