Haven't seen a hitch yet that didn't make that clunk, clunk sound every time you touch or let off the gas. Here is a cheap fix. Get two grade-8 3/8 x 1" bolts and nuts. Drill a 3/8 hole in the side and bottom of your receiver hitch. The top of the hitch would be better but is usually unexcessable just below the bumper/frame.
Run the nut up the bolt and insert it in the hole. You can reach inside with another nut to hold the bolt in position if you have too. Zap the outer nut with a welder ensuring the bolt still rotates. (Local welder should charge no more than $5) Do the same on the other outer nut. Remove inner nuts if used. Spray paint to match hitch.
Install reciever and lock pin. Now tighten the jamb bolts and enjoy a quiet tow... A poor pic is in my album, but you get the idea... _________________ Chris |
