A great big thanks to whomever recommended Fusor 171 double sided tape. For this mechanically challenged old man it's going in my tool kid right next to the duct tape. It bonds metal, glass, and plastic, is UV, water and solvent resistant and clear. One caution however, the box states "for professional use only-not intended for consumer use" . If I recall correctly, it was about $12 for a 20 foot roll. _________________ MartyP

Sounds like someone in a US governmental agency wrote the warning about it's use. Suggest that you make that duct tape in your tool box, "Gorilla Tape." It is twice as strong as regular duct tape and does not deteriorate when it gets wet.

How do you un-bond? Is there a solvent available?

Remarkably, you simply raise a corner and peel it off. It looks like it never was there.

Glad you like the Fusor #171. I've found that stuff indispensable.
It's one of those "Don't leave home without it" items.
I just picked up another roll here in Fairbanks last week and it ran about $12,00 also. It's amazing that as solid as that stuff bonds that you can remove it without leaving a trace of residue. _________________ Mark on Mighty Bite |

Could you please tell us where you can find the tape, it sounds great. Thanks |

Since they use it in automotive body work, I'll bet you can find it at automotive paint stores, since they also sell fasteners, other supplies, and painting equipment as well.

I got it on the net from Sam Ditcheck and Sons. It was $9 for a 20' roll. |
