I believe AFI has all the info on how the park works and how to wire
it on their website. You can change where it ends up however I have
failed every time I tried to change it and just bump the power to where
I want the wiper to end. Bob Heselberg Eatonville |

Do the circuit breakers on the side panel control the power to the switches to the right/left of the helm? I think they do, look at the posted diagram, there's a little squiggly thing in front of each switch, those are probably the breakers on the panel, no?

Bob, a google search for the AFI website turned up zilch. Do you have a link?

Charlie-
Here's the AFI / Marinco website's listing of wiper motors, but I've looked all over the website and can't find any Instruction / Owner's Manuals, or wiring diagrams!

Next best stradegy:
Get your wiper model number and go down to your most complete local marine hardware store and get them to let you photo copy the installation instructions in the new motor or wiper kit of the same or similar type.

Joe, the "nearest store" is about 75 miles away.....
I think the diagram I posted in the documents section of the overall wiring is pretty good. It shows the park circuit and the main switch for each wiper. The only thing I don't understand is where the circuit breaker panel is. I think it may not be shows per se but the little squiggly thing near each switch in the right and left helm panel is a breaker in that separate panel.
How does one "trip" one of those push button breakers to shut it off to check?

Joe I agree
I looked over the site and also stuck out. I thought at the time I
had printed it and looked out in the boat and could not find it either.
Guess I had bad info but I would bet the instructions in a new box
should have the same info. You take the back off the wiper and
move pins around for sweep degree and park place and I admit I
had bad luck and just disconnected the hot wire so I can park the
wiper where ever I want and I like that better for several reasons
One when I put a cover of the glass for moving the boat down the
free way its easier to put it on if the wipers are parked in the center
of the glass but the wipers parked near the side of the window tend
to flutter at highway speeds and the wiper blades fall apart real fast.
I was not happy to see a blade fall apart and tear and it had never
swiped the glass. I did repair with goop rather than spend the bucks
for a new blade. Cheap me! Bob Heselberg Eatonville Wa |

I guess I should also note why I worked on the wipers at all. When I got
the little tug it had the motors mounted in the corner of the windshield and
was pretty worthless. Ranger Factory provided me a center wiper and
the info to move the wipers to the center of the windshield so I got a nice
sweep. I ran my center and starboard wipers on one switch and used
a diode to seperate them. When all done I have center mounted motors
on all three windows on the tug. Early tugs had manual wipers mounted
in the corners and that would be good if the boat never left the dock.
Thats my story and what else can I say.. Bob Heselberg |

Just got back from the CAT. The port wiper works fine now but if I put the fuse in the park ckt, it runs all the time. I didn't run it for more than 30 seconds, didn't want to ruin the rubber blade. Guess I'll have to pull the cover and look at contacts. The stbd one works fine.

Yup, I bet your contacts aren't opening on the cam actuated breaker set up for the parking.
Should be easy to bend a bit to get them to open the circuit and shut off the motor.
Good Luck!
