I have a 2003 Pacific trailer and my front tires are worn badly on both edges.. and I only have 6000 miles towing on them...Yes I know the factory puts cheep tires on them (Carlile tires)
Is this common? my car trailer has three times the milage and hardly any wear... I can't see any alignment adjustments...and as everything seems fairly straight I don't know exactally what to do...replace with Goodyears?
Or take it back to the factory and have them check the alignment..
Ideas? |

By both edges, do you mean the outside and inside of the tread on each tire? If so, sounds like underinflation. Might try increasing the pressure on them. Overinflation will cause the center to wear more, underinflation the outsides.
You could also try towing it backwards and see if it helps..

| Check the lugnuts as well, they tend to loosen on the front tires for some reason. |

Check the allignment. Any tire shop should do it okay. Easy to tap a curb or some other nasty with one side and move the axle are even bend it. I've got one now that eats tires...

check the ride height of your trailer. it could be riding low on the front and be putting undue pressure on the front tires. you may need to get a higher stinger for your hitch so that the ball is higher. or maybe take the ball off and turn it over so it is higher.and reinstall the ball.

Found the problem..... my hitch is too high...making the trailer 1" higher in the front than the rear. A quick trip to West Marine should cure that.
Might be a good time to switch to radial tires...now that I have trashed the bias junk tires..... |
