I have twin Honda 50s and noticed yesterday that the port tilt (showing the position of the motor) gauge is not working. Most likely due to a bad connection at the battery?
Thanks for the help. |

Gary,
On my Honda 75, I had the same problem. The plastic spring loaded bracket that is between the engine and the mounting bracket has a tendency to bind up over time. I just used some WD 40 on it to free it up and the gauge then read correctly.

I had the same problem on my twin 40's. Tilt the engine all the way up, then look to the left of the hydraulic shaft and you should see about a 3" long black plastic arm with a spring around it's base. That is the tilt sensor arm. Les Lampman explained all this to me and told me to lubricate that area frequently. I do...problem solved. _________________ Patti and Barry

Thanks for the replies. I'll check for that spring when I go to the marina tomorrow.
