I bought and installed a Controllking remote throttle for my kicker motor. It allows you to control the kicker with far greater precision than the tiller arm from as far away as the pilot seat in a 22 and probably a 25.
It is about a half hour install on mine and has a switch that (after a fish is on) drops the motor down to idle, then when switched back on goes immediately back to the exact previous trolling speed. It can be overridden upward with the tiller control if you need to, and it has a momentary full throttle button if you need to (for example) manually turn the boat in strong wind or for your autopilot to get better control. A great add on for people with port mounted kickers with awkward throttle control as you can leave the arm full up. With autopilot control of steering this feature would make trolling a dream.
I bought mine through Cabelas for $220, but I see at their website you can order them direct for $204. www.controllking.com. I had a small problem with my install and the people there were easy to reach and bent over backwards to help me. My problem dealt with Cabelas ordering the wrong year model. For me, this thing was worth every penny. I have no relation to vendor, just think it's a fine product add on for any trollers out there. At least one more item to add on the wish list.

No it is a different brand. Mine is a troll master. same principal, same options, different manufactor. I got a good deal on a new Yamaha 9.9 hp kicker without a tiller. Had it hard wireed in to the helm with throttle and shift. I belive the remote that I have will fit the new 9.9 as now they are the same as the 8hp but with upgrades in the internals of the engine to up the hp.
