1992 CD 16 Angler, in good condition (not perfect, a few dings and nicks, but clean and sound), with 1992 Mercury 40, two stroke, equipped with oil injection, running well, 476 engine hours. Equipment includes tach, engine hour meter, Ritchie compass, Garmin Fishfinder 160, Standard VHF with Tram antenna, Marine Stereo MA 5100 AM-FM cassette player with two speakers mounted in cockpit, two SS rod holders mounted on cabin top corners, teak swim step, Karavan Classic galvanized trailer with spare tire. Bought it on rebound from selling CD 22 "Snowdon", then woke up and found out I again had another wonderful boat, and still not able to make time available to use it--another case of eyes bigger than schedule-itis. Reply here or call me at 410-703-9653.

So far--four days on the market, advertised here and on Craigslist Baltimore: two offers sight unseen, (maybe a bit of wistful low-balling I think), one visit the day the ad appeared, and several other inquiries. Weather in our area has been not-so-nice: ice, sleet, and snow, so I figure young sailors' thoughts have not yet fully turned to springtime boatlove quite yet. My youngish lady on the trailor waits patiently for her true new partner.

Hang in there Bruce. Four days is a long time but it may take as long as a week! Shocked It's a good price and it will go.

We still expect to see you at Langford. Please bring Jane and I'll take you out on a TC255. That's what you really need...
Thumbs Up
Charlie

So, by February 22 I had several inquiries, one couple had come to see the boat, and one person had made an offer around $7000 sight unseen. One fella had asked if $7500 would be accepted, then tried again with $8000, but it was hard to tell if he was serious enough to put serious money down if an offer was accepted. All these folks came in response to the Craigslist Baltimore ad about the boat. Then, it is as if the lights went out--no calls, no email inquiries, nada this past week or so. Shocked In the meantime, more ads here for similar older boats, at much higher initial prices. Interesting. Clearly the desirability of a newer model four stroke engine is a big part of the issue. I had considered repowering, then selling, but it's hard to see that working either to my advantage or a prospective seller's. Perhaps being very honest about "nicks and dings" was not a good idea, but I'm talking about minor repairs little nicks and chips much smaller than a dime, and not many of them, not gouges and structural cracks. We're talking about a good clean, sound boat. This is so much different a response than when I sold Snowdon, I'm going to guess it has to do with the times. Oh, well--a good deal on a very good boat is waiting for someone. More as events warrant...Bruce

Another $7500 offer last night, sight unseen. Boat's been on the market less than three weeks with limited advertising as described above. Let's let spring arrive a bit more...

And, so, the boat is sold, money exchanged, and down the road she went with her new owner. In the past week, the new owner called one evening, checked the boat on the trailer the next day, put a deposit down, had a sea trial a few days later, and today, we signed paper and it's done. In the meantime, I had a call from a guy in California, an email inquiry, and the above post on this thread. Smart folks, looking for a good boat. Good luck to you all. Thanks, Bruce H.
