you might check into getting a refurbished garmin, I did. They come with the same manufacturer warranty.

I saved over 1/2 price. I got the 188c for 350, new they were 750 to 1100.

http://www.edgegps.com/

my unit was indistinguishable from a new unit. They come with all the same items in the box as a new one also.

I found the bluechart data I needed on e-bay used for $46.

Nick , I actually have a 172C [on my 13 Whaler] which requires a blue Chart Chip for the detail .My oops . So many models.... Once you learn which is which ,they change it on ya.

I found some units with internal antennas today . We can sell them for 499.00 Plus actual freight and 7% tax if we ship to Fl. no tax if out of state . If anybody wants one let me know .

James,

Thanks for posting the link, I too am looking for a 188C, I have the 188 (B&W). I'll keep checking their site, they seem to be 'fresh out'!

Steve, I am loving the 188c. Of course I started with the 235.

Huge difference!

I did not want to drop the big bucks for the cutting edge models, which I don't need anyhow. The 188c does more than I will probably ever use.

good luck.
