Some of you know I tried to put together a trip south this year, and due to a lot of things, had to cancel.
A friend in Ft. "extended stay"...Anybody have experience with that area and that marina?

The Ft Myers yacht club is a great place to stay. Ft Myers has a great down town area, all with in walking distance of the marina. There is a nice new Publix grocery store close by. The price for a slip with power and water is not bad and the area is clean. We enjoyed going to Cabbage key and other day trips around the area. With the slip we also got a parking spot. The city ramp to put in at is just a block down the street. Be careful if you lock thru and travel up the river. The times are very limited and you could end up not getting to lock back thru.

Any idea of monthly cost for a slip at the city marina? Is that possible?
I hear that many of the places are discouraging live aboards, even for a few months.

Terraplane, Call up Legacy Harbour marina, Ft Myers, Fl. on the web and it will give you a good idea of costs and what is available there. It may not be considered the city marina but is one there that is located downtown. Ron

Ah, Ft Myers my home town!! There are many great things for boating in this area especially in the winter months. A lot of great short day trips out to the islands and to the Naples area as well. The marina has a very good reputation and it is very reasonable, $28 w/water/elec. for a 25' boat.
If you need anything else, send me a pm and I'll do what I can to help.
Bob

Hi
We are in Fort Myers Beach and was wanting to GO TO Lake Okc. and spend the night over there and do some crusing on the lake.
