P1000486 Some scrap 3 x 4" aluminum angle 1/2" stainless u-bolt 35 dollar stainless turnbuckle, short piece of chain, and a shackle.

P1000487 The turnbuckle is only hand tight and it holds the bow down tight. The lock nut on the turnbuckle wonders down and it will not let the turnbuckle loosen up. The aluminum angle underneath that the ubolt is bolted thru is below the top flange of the frame rail. Hopefully preventing a close relationship between boat and truck and it's occupants should the unthinkable occur. Looks and works better than a stinking strap *

On longer trips I run both the top and bottom nuts tight into the turnbuckle. The turnbuckle is rated for 3500 pounds It has a hole in the middle which I stick a phillips screw driver to hold the turnbuckle while I either tighten or lossen the jam nuts on the turnbuckle itself

Notice broken fender strut, Float On Trailers are sending new ones

Poor quality tires caused the fenders to oscillate at different speeds, causing these struts to break in less than 5000 miles on a new trailer, added gussets to make them stronger

Same thing on the other side, will increase rim size to 15" from 14" and get Michilin radials on this trailer, the tires supplied really suck. a shame with a quality trailer someone should have said these tires just are not good enough, I guess there ok if you never leave the front porch

New Longer tongue with Electric over Hydraulic Carlise unit. Recently upgraded to a 1600 PSI brake from the original 1200 PSI unit. The heavier duty unit works even better. The 1600 PSI unit is recommended for disc brakes not the drum type.

black box has battery for breakaway should the truck and trailer become separtated. This controller works well with my 2009 Chevy built in digital brake controller set the gain to 4 and it seems to be about right for the braking force.Swap done by our trailer's daddy Float On Trailers in Vero Beach Florida On to Key West

Float On trailer fender supports this is the area where we have cracking occur. To stiffin up the arrangement we added a piece 0f 3/8 x 3 1/2 x 13 3/4 long piece of aluminum plate.

notice stock support 3/8 plate next to it. First bolted plate in place with 1/4 x 20 stainless bolts and lock nuts. Then used existing holes to drill the 3/8 holes for mounting to trailer's frame. Longer bolts were required 1 3/4 worked with nylon lock nuts
