THE PROBLEM: It\'s large milk crate was taking up almost all the starboard aft storage area. I bought a vertical mount that didn\'t fit, so I made this one.

half inch starboard shaped with double thick cardboard template

screws provide a lot of shear to hold the pressure pulling away from the mounting surface

the right angle braces help stabilize the sides

used a small angle router blade as opposed to a half round... looks more crisp

the obvious place to mount it was the engine well

centrally accessible in a previously unused space

fender washers on the backside hold mounting bolt heads in the motor well

.the anchor drops in and holds securely... it pops right out when needed in a hurry...

the stainless bar pulls out to instantly release all the chain with the rope coiled on the floor (Behind spare gas container and cooler)

the whole thing goes behind the cooler tucked away but at the ready… makes a handy spot for the boat hook.

the back is actually flush with the edge of the cockpit - there will eventually a seat and possibly back cushion on the cooler
