ground off the paint to prepare for the weld. i should have ground off the paint on the back side too, my weld was not very good and had lots of contamination it it and I think it was pulling paint and crap from the back side into the puddle

something wrong with the wallas. a howling noise accompanies this condition, it goes away after a while. I called scan in seattle, and they said it is dirty and could be cleaned and serviced. after they looked at it, I was told it needs a new mother board and they aren\'t available for the 95d. they said there is no danger, just use it until it stops working.

port motor siezed completely in the san juans summer of 2020. turned out it was one of the magnets inside the flywheel had come off and become wedged in against the charging coils.

batteries not secured in the starboard lazarette . a real rats nest. there is a circuit breaker that powers all electronics in the cabin down there out of sight. the batteries would slide around and trip it whenever we went over a wake or wave. not a high quality installation...

the circled hole is stripped and was the original location of the locking gear. this windlass has an extra hole already tapped for when the primary locking gear bolts strips the threads on the aluminum. I fixed this with help from the manufacturer over the phone. Jennie at Powerwinch was very helpful and talked me through the entire repair over the phone
