So, a friend of mine had this piece of shelving in his shed and asked me if I wanted it. Initially I said no thanks but then I remembered the C-Dory.

A little cutting and trimming and in it went under the stove/sink. It's just teak veneered partical board so I really expect it'll last all that long but it's better than what was in there (nothing). Besides, can't beat the price.

Made a wood mount for the console and mounted my new Garmin 74cv. Also added aNMEA 2000 buss and added my ETec to the buss so I can monitor all the engine vitals and fuel flow on the Garmin. Pretty darn sweet.

Another shot of the Garmin. I also tied the light on my compass to the nav light circuit. So, whenever I have the nav lights on the red illumination for the compass is also on. Nice!

Cleaned up all the wiring behind the console. There was lamp cord being used for the horn and a couple circuits, like the stereo circuit, that weren't being used so, I got rid of them. Much cleaner now.

Had a kind of hack job hole at the very back of my console so I decided this would be a great place for a couple of USB ports. Got out the drill and a step bit and made the hole nice.

Added this 2 port (2.1 amp per port) USB/Voltage monitor outlet and wired it to it's own circuit on the switch panel. Turned an ugly hole into something useful.

I picked up a plank of african mahogany to knock out a few interior projects, one being this seat riser. I'm raising the helm seat 2.5 inches for a couple of reasons. 1. The seat is a bit to low for my liking, so I'm always sitting on a throw cushion. 2. I'm putting a 12v chest fridge under the helm seat and want to keep a bit of storage under the slide-out shelf the fridge will be sitting on. Win, win.

The seat riser and furrowing strips that are being glued above the side windows. I will eventually make roll up curtains that will attach to the strips. I prefer roll-ups vs snap-on's, at least for the side windows, because that one less thing to store and they're right there when the sun starts blazing.

All of them got 3 coats of teak oil.

I'm adding some strips of mahogany across the top of the cabin to attach things to.

Sanded the mounting areas with some 40 grit to knock down the stipple and get a bit better adhesion.

Seat riser raises the seat 2.5 inches. Dual purpose making more room for the fridge and letting me get rid of the throw cushion I normally sit on while driving.

Got the fridge shelf installed today. Easy galley access under the helm seat.

This will pretty much be used for food only. Drinks will be in the cooler in the cockpit like we have done all along. Well, until we run out of ice anyway.

The fridge is 32 quart, 12v/AC LG compressor unit from Costco. I've been running it full of beer in one of the spare bedrooms for the past month and it seems to work really well. Supposedly 2.4 amp draw when running. Runs for about 5 minutes on a 25 minute cycle. I found out about them from the guys on the Expedition Portal forum. They seem to like them pretty well so we'll see how it goes.

For $250 I figure it's definitely worth a shot compared to the price of some of the "name" brand units out there. If it sucks, back to Costco it goes.

I'll be adding a 150 watt solar panel to the roof rack to keep it chugging along.

My stock switch panel only has capacity for 6 circuits so today I added a Blue Sea 12 circuit fuse panel.
