Uh oh, I\'d better read the instructions before I start this project, might take a while to sort all this out!

Getting the plumbing in

The aluminum shelf elevates the Ckark pump, it engages lugs at the rear so it easily slides out for maintenance.

The Clark pump has enough hose so it can slide out for easy maintenance. The freshwater output is about 8 gallons hr. drawing slightly over 8 amps, a very efficient system. Our solar system has a peak output of about 28 amps. All up system weight is 62 pounds way less than 2, 5 gallon water containers.

Almost finished, the flowmeter and pressure gauge were hard to find a convenient spot for. In the background you can see the copper foil that is the caries the ground plane from the SSB transceiver antenna tuner to the through hulls under the step where it is well bonded.

This pressure accumulator smooths out the pump pressure pulses. Below it is the quick disconnect on the on the hose that goes to the discharge through hull that will be connected to a circulation hose for storage chemicals that stop algae growth during storage. You can also see a bit of the 8 gauge duplex wire I had to install between the batteries and a close by sub fuse block.

Dana missed the shot of me waist deep upside down in the cabinet with parts everywhere so this will have to do, this is a very complex installation and the directions are minimal and UTube didn\'t help as much as usual, anyway read 10 times cut once and cross your fingers. We have to run it 4-6 hours out of the harbor to eliminate all the factory preservative, a major hassle. Update... we just called the Spectra tech line and they picked up first time, we need to ignore the printed manual (worst case scenario) and use dock water through charcoal filter for a 30 minute flush, much happier, great service line.

Finally finished with the watermaker! This is the blue test water outlet line. The initial output is tested for salinity until it has almost 0 salt before routing the drinkable water forward to the water tank. *

Using the watermaker for the first time in Ensenada el Cardonal on Isla Partida 27 miles north of La Paz.

The flowmeter shows we are making over 8 gallons an hour from the salty Sea of Cortez. 8 amps draw out of 14 amps put out by the solar system midday in Mexico.
