On the left is the MV Coho, headed for Victoria. We left Port Angeles about 8 am for the 90 minute ride.

Got to Telegraph Cove at 6 pm. *

Telegraph Cove now has a few slips for mega yachts. *

First stop is Alert Bay on Cormorant Island. A must stop.

There is a ferry from Port McNeill. Alert Bay has a festival a few weeks after we were there and we heard the moorage would be a problem. No problem when we went. The harbor master didn't even charge us because we were small and just visiting the museum.

Up the road at the tribal longhouse is the world's tallest totem pole. The top 10 feet broke off, but it's still the tallest. Beth is standing at the bottom.

I do some carving, so I'm always interested in stuff like this.

Get a piece of driftwood.

A good pastime for a boat (except the wood shavings are hard on the bilge pump).

Next stop was Mamalilaculla. I had read Tea Time and Totem Poles since my last visit here, so I was curious to go ashore. We used the bungee anchor system.

I think that this was the infirmary.

The few remaining buildings are mostly covered by vegetation. The paths are visible, but probably because they are used by bears.
