Launched at Edmonds Marina, ready to head out on a Saturday morning.

This is what I pack for a camping trip on the 16.

Heading North along Camano Island.

It was flat calm all the way from Edmonds to Hope Island. I cruised at around 4200 RPM, took almost 2.5 hours.

By the time I had the dinghy inflated to go ashore to pay the buoy fee, the wind at Hope Island had picked up...glad I snagged the last buoy around 11AM, the currents are swift through this area, although many yachts anchor here as well without any apparent issues.

There were a couple of bald eagles in the trees, directly behind my boat, no more than 100' away.

Eventually the eagles took off after being pestered by a couple of crows.

In the early afternoon I took the dinghy over to neighboring Skagit Island, where I am beached here.

The winds died down completely for about an hour in the early evening, before picking up again until sundown.

Saturday June 25th at Hope Island

Cruising around Hope Island in the dinghy. Picked up this 3.5 Tohatsu at a swap meet a month ago for $300 and it does quite well on the 9 foot dinghy.

A quick run back to Skagit Island to use the facilities before turning in for the night. The "facilities" are much nicer on Skagit than on Hope Island.

Spotted this lone humpback whale just as I was returning to port in Edmonds. He was a bugger to get a photo of! Would disappear for 5+ minutes at a time.
