The 28th street boat launch in Hoquiam. It is new. It wasn't here when I had my paper route on 28th street.

Two miles from the launch, the motor dies and I have my first experience with Vessel Assist. A $154 lesson.

After solving the breakdown problem, the first place that I head is the Hoquiam River. These are the old dry docks where we roamed as kids.

Well, there is the boat ramp. This is a minus 1 foot tide. But the super slippery mud is much higher. You will need a tow truck with a winch to get back up if you use it at other than high tide.

Up bright and early the next day. A weird chop inside the breakwater. It wasn't that bad outside. I took the little used South Channel back to Cosmopolis.

It is kind of hard to see in this picture, but the snag is 600 yards off shore. The difference in the water surface is because there is a spit that extends out that far. It is two feet deep where the snag is and 25 feet deep a few feet out from the snag.
