The Trent Severn Waterway on Tinytown
IMG 5196 Turning off of Rice Lake and on to the Otonabee River. Looked like the Everglades a little.
From: Robert H. Wilkinson (Robert H. Wilkinson)  Tue Oct 6 21:43:49 2015
Years ago we looked at a cottage for sale near here - the land on your starboard side is a First Nations Reservation.

IMG 5207 A bird of some kind maybe an eagle. He looked like a bad ass

Osprey, I believe - a cousin to the bald eagle. Lots of places along the Trent have built nesting platforms for them on old telephone poles.

P1020297 I don't know who decided to put the church here and I bet it was not easy

When we were in Gananoque some preacher was going around the marina offering people a "free" boat ride to his church on an island - we passed on his offer.

Amazing pic - and yet an anomaly, the trees cast a shadow from both sides - is it high noon - or because its a reflection and not a shadow??? My feeble brain wants to know!

P1020346 The woman who was traveling on this C-Dory visited with us while we were locking thru. So sorry her name escapes me. They were hanging out on the lock wall for the night. The lock walls are almost always beautiful with lots of other boaters to share experiences with fun time

Looks like Jonathan Arthur(IRLBOATER) aboard SALTY - he was going to be on The Trent this summer as part of his Great Loop adventure.

P1020357 You have to pay attention on the waterway although everything is very well marked. Used auto pilot a lot in the slow speed zones.

In the winter they close this old railway bridge(just west of Fenlon Falls) and it becomes part of a snowmobile trail.

The tub type lift lock at Kirkfield. You come in up at tree top level pretty crazy

Lights(arrows) in the middle point to the tub that will be available next - green light gives "all clear" to enter.

P1020365 Like an infinity pool. I stayed back from the front edge a little disconcerting to say the least
From: Robert H. Wilkinson (Robert H. Wilkinson)  Tue Oct 6 22:39:58 2015
Yes it was! I must be braver than you though - I was up at least another 15-20 feet! lol

IMG 5339 This seemed like a real holiday. It don't know what a Haweater really is
From: Robert H. Wilkinson (Robert H. Wilkinson)  Tue Oct 6 22:59:34 2015
Haweater is a nickname given to people born on Manitoulin Island - the largest freshwater island in the world.
