Modification of a C-Dory helm seat to make the back lie flat (then it can be used for additional galley counter space). The part that is modded is the vertical section of angle that you can see on the right. If you look closely you can see where the original hinge was cut, and the piece of angle riveted on. Before the mod the seat won't fold flat.
