Anti-rattle hitch. Two nuts welded.  Bolts go thru and jamb hitch tight to stop the clunk, clunk noise when stopping and starting.

$250 form Cabelas. Galvanized. Had to make my own u-bolts. The ones with the kit had an inside width of only 2".

Cabelas did reemburse me $40 for making the U-bolts. Great company to deal with.


 

Simple cheap plywood deck. Room under splash well for coolers and gear.  Can still see for water build-up in stern

4 x 5'9" x 3/4 ply painted with no-slip marine paint. One 2x4 up the middle for support. Used old dry-deck on top for cushion.

No interference with the anchor light until you put the canoe up there. It is held on by up to five band clamps per side. Four shown and only Four total are all that is really needed.

Ugly cut-outs in the deck allow access to the band clamps that hold it on. The grab rail going forward seems to work better with more access to tying off fenders and such.

"STANLEY TOOL" is the best engine support for over the road travel. Saves factory support. Cost is less than $20. See next photos.
