 St. John's River, Florida 2017
Noble Phoenix, ex Mayport Ferry.

Noble Phoenix, ex Mayport Ferry.

Description : This is on Murphy\'s Creek, North of Palatka. We found this ferry, with two corrections busses and one airstream trailer on the deck. I opened the April 2017 edition of Power and Motor Yachts, and found an article by editor Bill Pike, where he has published an almost identical photo of the \"Noble Phoenix\" Apparently there is a couple living aboard. They have a gangplank to the bank--no idea who owns the land. Sure an interesting and unexpected finding.

Built in 1954 in San Mateo, California. Keel laid as the M.V. Carquinez. Served in Cali until the mid sixties when she came through the Panama Canal where she became apart or the history if Mayport for nearly 50 years serving along side the M.V. Norfolk County (Buccaneer).

Sailing under the name Blackbeard. The Carquinez served North Florida gallantly, decommissioned and sent to Green Cove Springs only to fly out of the ashes with a fitting name, The Noble Phoenix!!!

She is 507 gross tons, and 185 feet long.
