It is an Icom 706 ham and marine Single Side Band transceiver. See it in a nearby photo.

It was discontinued because it contained selenium in some parts.we got it like new on Ebay and Gordon West optimized it for us.

It is very powerful for it's size and is mostly used by Ham RVers. It needs an auto-tuner 140 box to tune the antenna for different frequencies.

Wouldn't you want a rubber or plastic spacer? Something that is not absorbent. Just my thought.

That might be better but these are only used to hold the spacing while the multiple silicone dots I put in between set up. The dots being wet won't affect the panel.
