Helm control is vastly simplified over other set-ups. Simply turn off main motor, tilt the rocker switch for F/N/R, and dial in the speed, and continue to steer with the wheel. Seamless transition back and forth with main motor w/o the helmsman's moving. We use this motor to troll very slowly for trout when the wind doesn't require the main motor's thrust. It's stealthiness helps overcome the tendency of the comparatively large CD-22 to scatter spooky fish in shallow water fishing conditions on lakes. Compared to a gas kicker, it's a great improvement and one of the best things I've added to this boat.
