(Sea Wolf) Batteries 3 & 4 viewed thru Port Window

Extra batteries also help to balance weight of helmsman in boat. With sealed cells, no oxygen or hydrogen is emitted when charging. Space lost to batteries was a good trade-off and only abouyt 1/4 of this area's volume.

These two batteries have significantly thrown off the weight balance of the boat right to left (athawartships). They're ok when I'm by myself, but with the second person on board on the port side of the boat, there's just too much weight on that side of the boat. I'm going to move the batteries to the well under the v-berth to center their weight. (I don't use the Porta-Pota on the boat.) Will keep the switch where it is, lengthening the cables as necessary. I will also have to add a bar or barrier across the well to keep the batteries from sliding backwards. Weight forward on an inland lake (Shasta) is not a problem and helps cut the waves and chop. Will let you kinow how it turns out. Joe. [delete comment]
