1st attempt...successful I might add...of our group to dock up together. 2nd dock off to the right of this photo of Mamma Byrd's dock, which is sister Sandy's dock. Stopped for fruit, nic-nacks, coffee prior to upstream trip. Lady, the lab of the house sure hated to stay behind on her run.

Heading up river.... 5 of the 6 boats..Left to right... I think are Pelican (KY), FreeByrd (AL), Rene Verda (CA), Wanderer (Annapolis & FL), SEA3PO (CA)... sorry if I missed these but think I am correct. Pic taken from Halcyon by El, with Bill at the helm.

OK... not many folks in this area have even seen one C-Dory...much less a flock of 6 at once...so, we had to prove our worth...and that we are tuff boats...as most figure just while admiring the lines of the vessels...but, Pelican...takes on a local...for a bit of head to head.. Great angle on this pic off of Halcyon..El I think took it while Bill was at the helm...looking forward to a nice steak dinner at Cherokee Marina.

1st supper after all boats launched and a shake down cruise prior to going up river...where people...and services are limited to pretty much what you bring. Cherokee Marina and Restruant...at Cumberland River and HWY 109 bridge, TN

FreeByrd up river a bit...yep..you can hear the bangos in the background. B up front enjoying Rod Stewart on the wireless headset while watching for drift, and Pat checking out the true shallow draft of a VERY COMFORTABLE 24' cabin cruiser...just feet from shoreline while brother Mike (yes,,,that is two brothers from TN with only one first name)...taking the helm... Life is good...wish all of you could have been there...great air shows by the eagles...and red tail hawks doing thier mating air shows....

Bed time...not at anchor, but at another great stop for dinner...which provided overnight dockage FREE...and fuel at 2.29 a gallon as I recall...at the marina.. Defeated Creek.. new great friendly owners..who loved our boats. We were the 1st "Convoy" of boats to the marina with new owners. Killer Burgers too...and very cold beverages...
