After the rigors of Chesapeake Bay, the calm water of the Great Dismal Swamp Canal was a pleasant respite.  Lots of wildlife!

The only other boat in the lock with us and behind us in the canal was a 50' Sailboat.  He drew 6' of water and apparently had no problems
