By May, we have Greeniron ready for sea trials. Only problem was motor would not run much above idle. Bypassed fuel selector valve, ran good. Later, took valve apart, what a mess, all gooped up with sealer, and plumed wrong.

Change cam drive belt on 2002, 70hp Johnson. Service manual said do @ 200 hours. Now it's been extended to 800 hours.

Using special OMC tools, remove flywheel bolt.

OMC tools, pop flywheel off tapered shaft.

Remove alternator, and belt tension pulley.

With timing marks properly aligned, remove belt, install new one, and reassemble.
Flywheel installs with notch on keyway on tapered shaft. Belt tension pulley has spring loading for belt tension, over tension can damage oil pump drive at bottom of cam shaft.
