Looks like a spare hub to me. Something I wish I had with me a time or two before I put the new axle and oil bath hubs on.

Do you have any concern about the proximity of the grill and the fuel tank fill and vent? I would. I do like that the mount gets the grill over the water out to the side.

the aluminum strap from the shelf to the gunnel gives the shelf extra support for use as a step

At Lake Powell loaded with a month of provisions,
carrying 70 gallons of gas, That is me slalom skiing at approx 28 mph. with our usual 17 pitch prop. The Mercury Optimax 90 has exceeded our expectations
