Line Counter Switch

Line Counter Switch

Description : Magnetic reed switch with contacts that close each time the magnet (encased in red plastic attached to gypsy) passes it. The switch is mounted on an extended stud made to to replace the flathead machine screw that holds a line guide behind the gypsy. The wires from the switch are routed through a length of heavy tubing and fed down through the same hole the rode drops through. It works slick, and counts each revolution of the gypsy. The circumference of the gypsy where the line runs is very close to one foot, so the count is an acurate indicator of the length of rode payed out. The next photo shows the counter that is signaled by the switch.
