Here's a closeup. I don't have a clue on this. The spot is approx. 1 inch in diameter and is below being flush with the Gelcoat surface approx. .025

I think it is where they removed the boat from the mold during manufacturing. Our boat had a very similar mark.

I know this is an old photo/post, but I found the same thing under my 2005 22 Cruiser, with the same question and probably Rob is right.

I researching this "spot" I found the it is the mold plug, used in removing the hull from the plug. it might be called the D-Dory belly button. It is not a defect.
