Last Weekend in May. I launched on the far side of Frank's Tract Friday morning.

it was not this windy at the house.

Washington Cut is a favorite place to overnight and get out of the wind.

While eating dinner I heard something in the tules. He did not seem to want his picture taken. He turned and ran as soon as I opened the window.

It is still windy on Saturday.

Not much traffic so this bridge is mostly manual. The tender had to walk to both ends and close the gates. Then walk to the shed in the center and operate the motor to open.

He only opens it enough for your boat to slip around the end at an angle. I think I gave him his exercise for the day - mostly bass boats through here.

Coming into the dock at Brannon island State Park. Only a few miles from Rio Vista.

The docks are not the best but a nice family park. You can stay the night and use the showers. Another place to stay out of the wind.

Most of the wind passes over the top but some gusts would cause some tugging on the dock lines. The poor tent campers got the full force.

These little birds knew where to get out of the wind.

For my last night I selected a tropical looking beach on the South East side of Frank's Tract.

Sunday evening and it is still blowing across the tract.

On this side it is sunny and calm. A bow anchor and stern tie to the tree.

The water is warm - just step off the swim step and two steps to the beach.
